Tesla released an MCU hardware revision and now Elon has stated that they will be offering MCU retrofits for existing owners as well as a software upgrade for the older hardware which should pack some of the updated code that makes the new experience so much faster. It will be unlikely to expect the software update alone to make the experience as speedy, but hopefully it will be an improvement.
